Wow. Sometimes it is crazy to look at old photos of Ruby Street. Like this:
What is this? It's llh, cac, and jc pondering the first of four kitchens that needed to be ripped out in early 2010.
Or this:
the original state of the garage
then came this:
the kitchen drawers hanging out in the garage...
and collecting mess
last weekend my dad came down and we progressed to this:
a cleared wall fitted out with casings made by my uncle steve akana. asking for steve's help on simple projects is a little bit like if you'd asked alexander mcqueen to help you sew a button on. sure, he does it because he's awesome and could do it in his sleep, but you'll always wish you'd needed something far more interesting (like a red ball gown inspired by a pheonix, or a gorgeous custom kitchen).
then on to cleaning the drawers...
with serious supervision
varnishing (and a sneak preview of another on-going project)
my dad transforming drawers into shelves (brilliant idea, dad!)
and the final product!
including the funky painted tin art that i found on the street a couple months ago. stay tuned for tweaks and use and updates on the other walls!
